Mediterranean Sea, 33° east and 35° north of the Equator, 105km west of
Syria, 380km north of Egypt and 380km east of Rhodes, 75km south of Turkey.
It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and
Sardinia, with an area of 9.251 sq km.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus covers the north

enhancing sunshine in abundance, a shoreline curving round its pretty
bays and golden, sandy beaches, valleys full of scented pines, orange and
lemon groves, and the olive and the carob tree, and last but not least, its
flower-filled gardens, Cyprus is ideally suited to tourism. A favourable
climate which promotes health and energy perfects this bounty. Lovers of
history and archeology can view 9000 years of the past through a wealth of
historic sites and monuments.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus offers a variety
of comfortable accommodation with a choice of modern villas, hotels and
motels. All provide western standards of service together with the island’s
traditional smiling hospitality. Everywhere can be found the best-loved
dishes of Turkish cuisine, proudly presented for the tourist.
A wide variety of goods and produce at local (cheap)
prices is to be found in the shops and bazaars. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy
every kind of water sport in the warm, blue, Mediterranean waters of the
island.
